AML/CFT country lists update

The Authority wishes to draw your attention to amendments to the country lists following the February 2023 FATF plenary. The country lists have been updated by the Cabinet Office and can be viewed on the DHA’s website.

In particular the Authority would like to highlight that:

  • Myanmar has been added to List A (High Risk Jurisdiction List) requiring enhanced due diligence measures to be applied to relationships connected with this jurisdiction; and
  • South Africa, Turkey and Nigeria have been placed on List B (Jurisdictions that may pose a higher risk) due to the FATF determining they had not made sufficient progress on their action plan.

Most regulated or supervised entities should already have carried out their own evaluation for any impact on their own risk assessments and customer procedures arising from these changes.

Further details regarding List B and steps to be taken can be found in this previous news item issued by the Authority in December 2022.
