This notice is issued by the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority (“the Authority”) in accordance with the powers conferred upon it under Section 30 of the Financial Services Act 2008.

The Authority has become aware of a website www.anola.io purporting to represent the business Anola Trading Limited and claiming to have an Isle of Man presence. The website purports to offer a range of cryptocurrency products.

 

The Authority wishes to draw attention to the following observations:

 

The Authority has failed to establish any association between the website, www.anola.io and any genuine Isle of Man companies or businesses. There is a genuine Isle of Man company called Anola Trading Limited but this company has not traded and has remained dormant since its’ incorporation in 2020.  The names mentioned within the website www.anola.io namely Lucas Hines and Jack Fowler are not linked to the genuine Anola Trading Limited

 

Those operating the potentially fraudulent website www.anola.io have no authority to claim that they operate in or from the address, 1st Floor, Exchange House, 54-62 Athol Street, Douglas, Isle of Man IM1 1JD and they are not known to anyone genuinely associated to that address.  The website www.anola.io is also using the address, Anglo International House, 52 Lord Street, Douglas, Im1 4LE.  Enquiries undertaken by the authority would show that this is not a legitimate address in the Isle of Man.

 

Documents seen on the website www.anola.io purport to represent filings at the Isle of Man Companies Registry.  These documents do not form part of the genuine Anola Trading Limited’s company record and have never been legitimately filed with the Isle of Man Companies Registry. 

 

A search of all genuine companies incorporated, and business names registered in the Isle of Man can be conducted at https://services.gov.im/ded/services/companiesregistry/companysearch.iom

 

To offer the services listed on the website www.anola.io in or from the Isle of Man would require them to be registered with the Authority.  There is no registered entity in the Isle of Man named Anola Trading Limited and linked to the aforementioned website.  A search of all entities licensed and registered by the Authority can be found at:

Under the circumstances, the Authority is concerned that any person who has accessed the website www.anola.io may potentially become the victim of fraud or it may be an attempt at gaining personal data from the browser in order to steal their identity.

Any persons who are already involved in any dealings with the potentially fraudulent website www.anola.im should consider notifying their local Police, bringing to their attention the contents of this notice.
