O.T.C Group Holdings Limited
The Authority has become aware of an entity calling themselves O.T.C Group Holdings Limited (“O.T.C”) claiming to have an Isle of Man presence. Correspondence seen by the Authority would suggest that O.T.C are offering financial services including potentially misleading information concerning the access to a financial compensation scheme.
The Authority wishes to draw attention to the following observations:
The Authority has failed to establish any association between O.T.C and any genuine Isle of Man companies or businesses. There is a genuine Isle of Man company called OTC Group Holdings Limited registered number 018384V but this company is in no way related to the potentially bogus O.T.C
Note the similarity in the company name with the potentially bogus entity using full stops between the OTC in the company name. The names mentioned within the O.T.C correspondence seen by the Authority namely Michael Stadler, Alexander Hartmann, OTC Group Asia Limited and O.T.C Exchange are not known to the genuine Isle of Man incorporated company OTC Group Holdings Limited.
Those operating the potentially fraudulent entity O.T.C have no authority to claim that they operate in or from the address, 34 North Quay, Douglas, Isle of Man, IM1 4LB and they are not known to anyone genuinely associated to that address.
There is no company incorporated in the Isle of Man under the name of O.T.C It is not registered in the Isle of Man as a company incorporated elsewhere having established a place of business on the Isle of Man.
O.T.C is not registered as a Business Name in the Isle of Man.
A search of all genuine companies incorporated, and business names registered in the Isle of Man can be conducted at https://services.gov.im/ded/services/companiesregistry/companysearch.iom
There is no entity in the Isle of Man named O.T.C Group Holdings Limited and linked to the aforementioned address. A search of all entities licensed and registered by the Authority can be found at: https://www.iomfsa.im/register-search/
Under the circumstances, the Authority is concerned that any person who has corresponded with the potentially bogus entity O.T.C may potentially become the victim of fraud or it may be an attempt at gaining personal data from the user in order to steal their identity.
General advice on how to avoid becoming a victim to identity theft and advanced fee frauds can be found on the Action Fraud website at http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/ID and http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/fraud-az-advance-fee-fraud respectively.
Any persons who are already involved in any dealings with the potentially fraudulent website
