The Authority is the financial services regulator in the Isle of Man and has a number of functions assigned to it including the registration and oversight of AML/CFT compliance by Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions, including legal professionals, as defined in Schedule 1 to the Designated Business (Registration and Oversight) Act 2015 (“the DBROA”)
The Authority has recently become aware of the above website which purports to represent the above company and/or business name. The website purports that the above company and/or business is located in the Isle of Man. The website purports that the above entities have an address of “Old Court House, Athols (sic) Street, Douglas, IM1 1LD”
Moroneys International Law Firm Ltd. (otherwise referred to as Moroneys Law Firm) is not registered with the Authority in terms of the DBROA.
There is no company incorporated in the Isle of Man under the name of Moroneys International Law Firm Ltd. It is not registered in the Isle of Man as a company incorporated elsewhere having established a place of business on the Isle of Man. Moroneys International Law Firm is not registered as a Business Name in the Isle of Man.
The Authority has been unable to identify any genuine connection between the above entities and the Isle of Man address mentioned on the above website.
The Isle of Man Law Society have no knowledge of the above entities.
Examinataion of the above website has identified that much of its content appears to have been directly copied, without permission, from the websites of other genuine Isle of Man businesses or from other unrelated websites.
The Authority has been unable to identify any genuine connection between the entities purportedly represented by the above website and the Isle of Man or between any of the individuals identified on the above website and the Isle of Man.
Under all of the circumstances the Authority has concerns that the above website and the entities that it purports to represent are not genuine.
Any persons who are involved in any dealings with with the above named entities or website should exercise the utmost caution.
Anyone who has had dealings with the above entities or website and has concerns that they may have been the victim of a crime should contact their local Police force without delay, bringing to their attention the contents of this Notice.
