This notice is issued by the Financial Supervision Commission (“the Commission”) in accordance with the powers conferred upon it under Section 22 of the Financial Supervision Act 1988.

The Financial Supervision Commission has become aware of the above website which purports to represent the entity, Investec Bank International Limited.

The information on website seems to have been copied from a number of genuine website, to make it appear more genuine. Information on the website seems to be an amalgamation of random details copied from various genuine entities. For example, on one page of the website it states that Investec Bank International Limited is based in the Isle of Man, yet the Contact Us page states that the address and telephone numbers are both from the UK. It also states that it is “Licensed by the United Kingdom Financial Supervision Commission to conduct Banking Business”. It should be regulated by either the “United Kingdom Financial Services Authority” or the “Isle of Man Financial Supervision Commission”.

There is a genuine entity by the name of Investec Bank (UK) Limited, which is authorised by the UK Financial Services Authority, but is in no way connected or associated with the above website.
