This notice is issued by the Financial Supervision Commission (“the Commission”) in accordance with the powers conferred upon it under Section 22 of the Financial Supervision Act 1988.

Pilgrim, through the above website, is holding itself out as being “an Isle of Man registered company” and as being “registered with the Isle of Man Assessor of Taxes.” It also claims to be “regulated by the Isle of Man Assessor of Taxes and VAT Office, Douglas, Isle of Man”, and “to comply with all legal requirements in the Isle of Man jurisdiction.” In a separate advertisement, Pilgrim holds itself out as operating from offices at 1st Floor, Atlantic House, 4-8 Circular Road, Douglas, Isle of Man.

There is no Isle of Man incorporated company with the name Pilgrim Professional Services Limited, nor is there a company of that name registered with the Companies Registry. The Assessor of Income Tax has no knowledge of any entity of that name, and does not regulate the activity in which Pilgrim appears to be engaged, in the manner the Pilgrim website appears to suggest. Isle of Man Customs & Excise, the authority responsible for VAT collection, has no knowledge of Pilgrim and has no record of any VAT registration by Pilgrim.

Pilgrim does not operate from offices at the Atlantic House, Circular Road address above. However, it should be noted that a Corporate Service Provider licensed by the Commission does legitimately operate from that address.

Under the circumstances, the Commission would urge any persons considering entering into a business relationship with this entity to exercise the greatest possible caution before proceeding, bearing in mind the content of this Public Notice.
